About Ahtopol

Bourgas Region

The town is a destination for holidaymakers in search of restful relaxation. Other than British tourists, the town is popular with Bulgarians, Czechs and Russians. It has two long and beautiful beaches. One of these located to the north is popular with nudists.

Five kilometres south of Ahtopol is the mouth of Veleka River, a beautiful rivers flowing into the Black Sea. A strip of sand occupies the mouth of the river, where some holidaymakers choose to sunbathe or swim. The village of Kosti, famous for its 'nestinarski' dances (barefoot dances on glowing embers) is situated near the river mouth. Further south to the border, holidaymakers can sunbathe at the beautiful beaches of Sinemoretz, Silistar and the smallest, Rezovo.

Regular bus and minibus transport is available to Bourgas (which passes through most of the towns and villages in the southern part of the coast) and the nearby towns of Sinemoretz and Rezovo.
