In addition to the prospect of joining the EU, Bulgaria has been reintroduced as a holiday hot spot. In their 2004 Summer brochure Thomson Holidays included Bulgaria for the first time. In 2005 for the first time, budget airline companies have included Bulgaria in their list of destinations and holiday makers are expected to flock there in their millions. Massive investment is being made in Tourism, including upgrading the airport in the Capital Sofia, investment in the Ski Resort area of Bansko, and across the board there is investment into the whole infrastructure of the country.
